Kaye Bewley Psych MA, HG-Dip, EFT-ADV Cert.

After many years spent in the media and marketing environments, Kaye returned to study in 2008, and earned her Masters in Psychotherapy at Nottingham Trent University in 2013.

This page details her qualifications to ensure her competence to practice.  She has presented workshops and has written several psycho-therapeutic books, as well as helped to promote other therapists through her newsletters, publications and websites.

To ensure she keeps up-to-date with her professional development and training, she is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and continually attends new educational courses.

“After 15 years of trying to find Mr Right, I bought Kaye's book 'Slippery Frog or Faithful Dog' about a year ago - and now I have a boyfriend who proposed to me at the Trevi Fountain!"

Lisa, Aquisitions PA at BBC

In essence, she has gained experience in the media, marketing and military environments for a good few decades before realising she had a knack for connecting with people.

After securing her educational goals, she set-up her own therapeutic practice and began to assist people professionally through counselling.  She now assists those experiencing traumatic stress (PTSD), those who suffer with depression and anxiety issues and also coaches writers in building their confidence enough to get published, by helping them plan the way ahead.

Having a talented and enthusiastic counsellor is vital to the success of the therapeutic experience.  This is the reason Kaye emphasises a down-to-earth practical approach in her therapy sessions in a neutral venue local to you, as it consistently delivers a wonderfully unique experience, one that you'll remember for a long time.  Once you enjoy the type of therapy sessions that she presents, you usually figure out what it is that you want from life and, finally, find yourself getting on with it.

Nottingham Trent University

A Masters (Hons) degree in Psychotherapy was awarded to Kaye Bewley.  For her final project, 'Soldiers & Civvies: a comparative analysis of the emotional meaning in their work cultures', she received a Distinction.  This project was aligned with the concepts of the Human Givens Therapy which is a global research organisation concerned with progressing the most effective forms of counselling and psychotherapy.  Human Givens works holistically, with scientifically accepted methods, to find the missing emotional needs of clients and works at unearthing their skills and abilities to get the unmet needs met.  It is closely tied to research in consciousness and the spiritual aspects of humanity as well as using techniques aligned with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre

Kaye completed a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques from the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, Oxford, UK.  This type of therapy is backed by thousands of research papers proving its evidence-based effectiveness.  The therapy is a structured form of psychotherapy that assists in changing unhelpful thinking and behaviour during times of distress. It is fully compatible medication if you use this. National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) gives an overview which supports its effectiveness, while the Royal College of Psychiatrists gives a summary.  With a remit to provide specialist teaching and training tailored for Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre OCTC comes under the remit of Oxford Health NHS Trust while working alongside Oxford University.

Emotional Freedom Techniques

Kaye completed an Diploma in Emotional Freedom Techniques in 2007.  The Emotional Freedom Technique method has been used for over 40 years, and Kaye took her training via Gary Craig, founder of the EFT Institute.  It presents a form of tapping on the accupressure points on certain parts of the face and body, while simultaneously repeating positive affirmations thereby linking brain and body with thoughts for healing.

British Psychological Society

Kaye is an Affiliate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) which is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. The BPS are responsible for the development, promotion and application of psychology for the public good.  The BPS enhances the efficiency and usefulness of psychologists by setting high standards of professional education and knowledge.
